Are you new to the real estate industry? One of the first steps is finding a team to help launch your career. A good real estate team consists of several key components that work together to provide excellent service to their clients. When I first started my career, I was fortunate to have joined a team that upheld all of these qualities, and I truly believe its the reason I have become successful in this profession. Here are some of the factors that make a good real estate team:

Experience

A good real estate team should have years of experience in the industry, with a track record of successful transactions. If there are newer agents, they have the experience of their coworkers for support and guidance. Agencies who have a lot of experience often offer training to their new agents, this is a must for you to grow in your career!

Knowledge

A good real estate team should have a deep knowledge of the local market, including current trends, property values, and zoning regulations. Oftentimes, they are also keeping their eye on future predictions, as well as banking and investment current events.

Communication

A good real estate team should have excellent communication skills, both with their clients and with each other. This includes timely responses to phone calls and emails, as well as clear and concise explanations of the buying and selling process. Communication with your coworkers keeps everyone close, and on the same page.

Organization

A good real estate team should be highly organized, with efficient systems in place for managing client information, scheduling appointments, and tracking deadlines. On a great team, you should be able to see how individuals are given a variety of different tasks and roles to keep the ship moving swiftly and efficiently.

Integrity

A good real estate team should operate with the highest level of integrity, always acting in the best interests of their clients and maintaining strict ethical standards. Even outside of their profession, they maintain their integrity in their personal life and network. Noticeable integrity within the team affirms trust  both with your team `and in the community.

Technology

A good real estate team should be up-to-date on the latest technology tools and platforms, including online marketing strategies, social media, and virtual tours. Technology is always changing and expanding, and you want to be able to be fluent in these platforms.

Collaborative Spirit

A good real estate team should have a collaborative spirit, working together to achieve the best possible outcome for their clients, and supporting each other in a positive work environment. You want to be on a team that is willing to discuss, debate, encourage eachother, be openminded and adopt new ways of doing things. Being collaborative means being flexible, open to suggestions, and willing to help coworkers when help is needed.

Access to Lead Generation

Oftentimes, new agents need to build up their sphere. This is the network that helps them get clients or become clients themselves. However, having a team that helps kickstart with leads in the beginning, can be another great way to start building your clientele and your sphere.

There are no doubt other qualities that are equally as important, and should be added to this list too. The goal of this specific list is to provide a baseline for new agents to think about when selecting a team to join. If you are a new agent, and have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me for a call or coffee date.
